    Responsibilities: Assists the Medical Center Administration in its protection program and provides a safe and secure environment conducive to quality patient care. Enforces all established Medical Center and Safety and Security Department policies and procedures related to the protection program concerned with physical and procedural security designed to safeguard personnel, prevent unauthorized access to equipment, facilities, materials and documents and safeguards them against theft and damage.

    Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.

    Successful completion of the New York State Eight Hour Pre-assignment Training Course.
    Successful completion of the New York State Sixteen Hour On-The-Job Training Course and NYS Security Guard License highly preferred.

    Minimum Experience:
    Experience in security field and/or law enforcement preferred.

    Required Certification/Registration:
    Must be registered with the Security Guard Registry in Albany.
    Valid drivers license without violations meeting insurance carrier criteria.
    Must be certified in BLS
    Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.

    Physical Requirements:
    Light to heavy duty based on job requirements and emergency situations. Must be able to endure physical elements of
    standing, walking, running, and possible physical confrontation.

    Working Conditions:
    Works inside and outside of facility and may be subjected to extended periods of outside work if assigned as a vehicle
    operator, traffic controller, or scheduled to exterior post assignments, and responding to calls for services.

    May come in contact with or be exposed to body fluids of deceased patients and/or infectious matter in the course of performing job duties. All Medical Center and Infection Control policies and procedures related to handling, precautions, and protective measures are to be strictly followed.
