Formed by the merger of Arden Hill Hospital and Horton Medical Center, Orange Regional is licensed for 383 beds and employs over 2,500 healthcare professionals including over 600 doctors. Orange Regional Medical Center has consolidated two existing campuses onto a single site in Middletown, New York. This completed facility is the first new freestanding hospital built in the State of New York since 1989 and is the largest medical center between the Tappan Zee Bridge and Albany.

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for providing secretarial and general administrative support services for the members of the Pathology Department.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology coursework preferred.

    Minimum Experience: At least 1 year experience in Pathology transcription required. Proficiency in basic computer skills required, especially word processing. Proficiency in medical terminology required.

    Required Certification/Registration: N/A

    Physical Requirements: Position requires 70% sitting, 30% walking. Lifting/carrying and grasping less than 15 lbs required, rarely more than 15 lbs. Must have audio-visual acuity. Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

    Working Conditions: Inside office conditions. May be exposed to potentially infectious specimens. Minimal exposure to formalin and other chemical fumes when in Laboratory area. Regular contact with others both in the department and hospital wide.
