    Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC), is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Formed by the merger of Arden Hill Hospital and Horton Medical Center, Orange Regional is licensed for 383 beds and employs over 2,500 healthcare professionals including over 600 doctors. Orange Regional Medical Center has consolidated two existing campuses onto a single site in Middletown, New York. This completed facility is the first new freestanding hospital built in the State of New York since 1989 and is the largest medical center between the Tappan Zee Bridge and Albany.

    Responsibilities

    The surgical and procedural co-management service will be responsible for the pre-surgical screening of surgical patients and post op medical management. This individual will be responsible for the coordination of the pre-surgical assessments (aka physician visits in PST), ordering of appropriate diagnostic tests, communication of results to the appropriate stakeholders, as well as co-management of medical problems in selected post op admitted patients. This position works in outpatient and inpatient setting, to minimize medical complications of surgical patients. This position may involve Resident education.

    Primary work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with one hour lunch break except hospital holidays when outpatient services are closed. After 5 pm and weekends and holidays, cross coverage will be provided by hospitalist service. The co- management physician will sign out to the ORMG “swing admitter”.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education: MD

    Minimum Experience: Experienced – hospitalist and/or experience in perioperative medical management

    Required Certification/Registration: New York State License. Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine,

    Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary with intermittent standing and walking

    Working Conditions: Work is outpatient clinic setting and inpatient rounding.
